The short version: TrustChekr uses only essential cookies for basic functionality. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party tracking cookies. We do not track you across the internet.
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit them. They help websites remember your preferences and improve your browsing experience.
Not all cookies are the same. Some are essential for a website to function, while others are used for advertising, analytics, or tracking your behaviour across different websites.
We use a minimal number of essential cookies required for TrustChekr to function properly. These include:
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Stores your dark/light mode preference | 1 year | Essential |
| high-contrast | Stores your high contrast accessibility setting | 1 year | Essential |
| text-size | Stores your preferred text size | 1 year | Essential |
In addition to cookies, TrustChekr uses browser localStorage to store certain preferences and data on your device. localStorage data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
If you delete TrustChekr's cookies, your preferences (theme, text size, high contrast) will be reset to defaults. Your Academy progress is stored in localStorage and will not be affected by clearing cookies (unless you also clear site data).
For instructions on managing cookies in your browser:
TrustChekr offers a Progressive Web App (PWA) experience that allows you to install the platform on your device like a native app. This uses a service worker — a script that runs in the background to enable offline functionality and faster page loads.
Our service worker:
TrustChekr honours Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. However, because we do not engage in any form of tracking, there is no tracking behaviour to disable. Your experience on TrustChekr is the same regardless of your DNT setting.
TrustChekr respects Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, GPC signals do not change your experience on our platform, but we support the standard as a matter of principle.
If we introduce new cookies or tracking technologies in the future, we will update this Cookie Policy before doing so and, where required by law, obtain your consent. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
